ISO9000 Standards have gone through large scales of modification several times since it‘s issued in 1987, then the current ISO9000 Standards came into being.

At present, ISO9000 Standards contain a group of closely related core standards of quality management system:
ISO9000: 2005 Quality Management System- Basis and Terms
ISO9001: 2008 Quality Management System- Requirements
ISO9004: 2009 A Method of Quality Management System-Organize Continuous and Successful Management
ISO19011: 2011 Verification Guide for Management System

The implementation of ISO9000 Standards can assist organizations to improve and consummate quality management system, and can be also conducive to the improvement of management level for organizations.
As one of the core standards of ISO9000 Standards, ISO9001 is applicable to all kinds of organizations, and it is also the management system with the largest number of certification in the world. ISO9001:2008, issued on November 15, 2008, is the current valid version.

In China, GB/T19001-2008 standards, issued on December 30, 2008, also adopt ISO9001: 2008 Standards.

  2.ISO 14001

Environmental Management System (EMS) is a part of the intact management system, aiming at working out and implementing its environmental policies, and managing environmental factors, including organizations, planned activities, responsibilities, practice, procedures, process and resources that are necessary for formulation, implementation, realization, review and preservation of environmental policies. ISO14001: 1996 Environmental Management System--Specifications and Use Guide, issued in 1996 by ISO, is the international standard applicable to certification and the pivotal of ISO14000 Standards, requiring that organizations should achieve the goals of supporting the environmental protection, pollution prevention and continuous improvement by establishing environmental management system, and should demonstrate the conformity and environmental management level of its environmental management system by obtaining certification from a third party certification body. ISO14001 environmental management system has received positive response from various enterprises since it‘s issued because it has brought many benefits, such as lowering energy consumption, enhancing the competitiveness, winning customers, and getting trust from the government and the public, etc. As a result, it is deemed as the "Green Passport" to international market. Meanwhile, ISO14001 has aroused much attention of governments and the public in different countries owing to the fact that its promotion and popularization can coordinate the relation between economic development and environmental protection, and can help to improve people‘s awareness of environmental protection, promote conservation and accelerate the process of technical development. In order to have a clearer idea of the requirements of ISO14004 standards, ISO has revised the standards and issued the new version of ISO14001: 2004 Environmental Management System --Requirement and Use Guide.

ISO14001 Standards emerged from the background of the serious environmental problems that human society face contemporarily, including greenhouse effect, ozone depletion, destruction of biological diversity, ecological deterioration, ocean pollution, etc. It is the crystallization of environmental management experience from industrially developed countries. The basic philosophies of ISO14001 Standards are to lead the organizations to set up self-restricting mechanism of environmental management according to PDCA established model, to properly deal with the relation between self development and environmental protection, to continuously improve environmental performance, and to efficiently prevent pollution in the spirit of initiative and self awareness from the highest leadership to every staff, thus the healthy development of organization will be realized in the end. Besides, the standards are applicable to any type and scale of organizations, and also suitable for geographical, cultural and social environment.

GB/T24001-2004 Standards, which was issued on October 4, 2005, equally adopts ISO14001: 2004 Standards.

  3.OHSAS 18001

Occupation Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), a management model of modern safety production arisen in the globe in late 1980s, is referred to as a post-industry epoch-making management method together with the management system stipulated in ISO9001 and ISO14001 Standards. GB/T 28001-2011(OHSAS18001:2007) standard, the unique OHSAS standard that applicable to the third party certification at present, provides structured operating mechanism for various organizations, and helps them to improve safety production management, and pushes forward occupation health in a safe and continuous manner.

With the continuous development of industry and technology, the safety issue of staff is becoming increasingly noticeable. Accidents in production worldwide are continuously increasing. According to the statistics of the International Labor Organization, staff‘s safety and health have been threaten seriously: there are 270 million cases of occupational accidents, and 2 million people die of occupational accidents and diseases related to working, and 160 million people suffer from occupational diseases per year worldwide. In the late 1990s, some developed countries took examples from the successful experience of ISO9000 certification to carry out occupational health and safety management system to ensure staff‘s health and safety. In Britain, BS8800 international standards-- Occupational Health And Safety Management System Guide was issued in 1996. Since then, some organizations in the United States, Austria, Japan, and Norway have worked out guidance document of OHSAS. Thirteen organizations including BSI, DNV put forward and revised OHSAS standards, namely, OHSAS18001:1999 OHSAS--Specification, OHSAS 18002:2000 OHSAS-Implementing Guide, and OHSAS18001:2007 OHSAS--Requirement, OHSAS18002: 2008 OHSAS--Implementing Guide. OHSAS18001 is now the international standards of OHSAS.

Since reform and opening up, China’s national economy has been maintaining a high-speed growth. However, occupational health and safety, one of the most important symbols of social development, is far behind of the steps of economic development. In order to improve the production safety as soon as possible, to ensure the basic benefits of all laboring people, to promote the development of trade, and to comply with the requirements stipulated by WTO, State Bureau of Quality Supervision successively issued national standards GB/T28001-2001 (OHSAS--Specification) and GB/T28001-2011 (OHSAS--Requirements) in 2001 and 2011 respectively, they equally adopt all contents of OHSAS18001:1999 and OHSAS 18001:2007, and it‘s applicable to any organization which hopes to establish OHSAS and seek for external organization’s certification of its OHSAS.
